My company HTC phone stopped making any sound, so I got a replacement. I was told it was going to be Iphone. I did not realize it was the white 4S 16 GB. BlackBerry Storm2, my personal phone for over 2 years now, is still pretty well.

I am not big video fan. Still very adorable to see Youtube video clips sleek, clear and crisp on the Iphone. It could not happen on the Storm2, since it only has 1 GB onboard built in memory, although 8GB on SD card. Playing video off SD card? Good luck.

48 hours later something that never happened to Storm2 happened to the 'white snow princess'. It crashed at visiting XM radio web site, stuck in a black-grey "screen of death". I could not figure out how to take battery out. I thought when it runs out of battery, I plug in charger, it will come back to life. I expected that to take at least two hours, but 20 minutes later when my son plugged in the charger, it was already dead low to ~ 5 %; before the crash it was charged 100% full.

Battery life: the first 3-4 days out of box seems much longer than latter. After first week or so, it seems ~45 minutes shorter? but stay stable at that duration. Duration similar to Storm2, but it mostly plays videos while Storm2 makes calls.

Speaking of call, the same voice quality problem with that HTC phone on ATT network persists with the new phone. One of my friends said my voice off the new phone sounds like calling from grave: unreally quieter than normal voice, feels like noises over-filtered, did not reach the level of effectiveness the receiver should normally like. I never try Iphone with Verizon, but would like to believe perhaps ATT is more at issue than Apple? Under comparable conditions, Iphone, as the case with the HTC phone, tends to drop calls more often than BlackBerry on V. Iphone's sound bites are more like needle pin digits. Cohesive image of total voice is somewhat over-decomposed.

Music: Lady Gaga's Poker Face and Katy Perry's California Gurls both are less 'Gagy' than the Storm2, although Storm2's prensentation is more noisy. Storm2 has a booster. I am yet to find one on Iphone. Music concert videos are good; Storm2 can not do that anyway. I surmise live concert may be...? Iphone plays much better on classical chamber music such as Telemann's Fantasies for Violin Solo. WAV sounds better than MP* files. MP3 is not very good overall. I have tested enough to mitigate so-called downward bias against a new player Like trying distilled water. Also, Itune on the Iphone seems to conduct selective sync of music off Windows 7's My Music?

Safari absolutely is better than whatever is Storm2's browser. Iphone certainly has richer applications than Storm2.No free Soduko, though.

The touch pad: if you press OK button, 7 out of 10 times you may need to do it twice. Storm2 has similar issue. I don't have big thumb, more like piano fingers, with little harry manners. It is much harder for stains to stay on the face of Iphone than Storm2. Weight and height are similar. Storms is thicker, fuller with griping palm, while Iphone is edge cutting and touching gentle.

The ear set that comes with the Iphone does not have speaker phone and pause button on the wire, you can not take calls, unlike Storm2. HTC phone is best. It even allows you to forward and backword.

Overall, Iphone makes it much easier to pass your time. In some aspects, purer is better, but not always. It is hard to say how much the user segments of the two phones should overlap. On important phone calls I still use BlackBerry.The mere fact that transitioning from BlackBerry to Iphone does not prove very hard seems to suggest that behind the fad for Iphone, there is little revolutionary to speak of. I think it is fairer to compare a matured Iphone version against a matured BlackBerry. If BlackBerry has 16 GB, will see.
